You can get an TOAC instead of a visa if you are:

• entry to the Taiwan and stay until your intended departure date
• do what you declare – business, study for short time, sightseeing, exhibition, visit relative, medical care, conference, employment, religion

If you are coming to Taiwan for another reason, check if you need a visa instead.
